There is no contact form on this site, because a form would mean collecting and storing what you type. Email reaches the same people and leaves you holding your own copy of the conversation.

Messages are read on working days. Most are answered within a few days; a question that needs checking against a source takes longer. If your message concerns personal information held about you, put the words “Privacy request” in the subject line and it will be handled under the Privacy Policy, with a reply within 30 days.

By post

Post is slow and is best reserved for formal correspondence. For anything else, email is better for both of us.

What we can help with

• A factual error on any page of the course — tell us the page and the sentence, and it will be corrected or removed.
• A link that has stopped working or now points somewhere unexpected.
• A question about how this site is funded, or about the affiliate links described on the Affiliate Disclosure page.
• A request to access or correct personal information, or a privacy complaint.
• A request to reuse part of the course in teaching or community material.

What we cannot help with

• Accounts, passwords, billing, refunds or technical faults in any game. This site is not the publisher of any game, is not its support channel, and has no access to anyone's account. The publisher's own support channel is the only route for those.
• Individual advice about whether a particular computer will run a particular game. Step 2 gives you the method; we cannot do it for you remotely and would only be guessing.
• Legal, financial or security advice about your own situation. The course is general information, as the Terms and Conditions set out.
• Advertising, link placement, guest posts or sponsored content. These are declined without exception and usually without reply.

What happens to your message

Your email is received by our email service provider, which may store data outside Australia, and is kept for 24 months after the last message in the conversation unless it is needed for a legal claim. It is not added to any list, because there is no list. Nothing is shared with any other party for marketing. Anything you send that is not needed to answer you is deleted where it is lawful and reasonable to do so. The Privacy Policy gives the detail, principle by principle.

If you would rather not give a name, you do not have to; a pseudonymous address is fine for general correspondence. For a request to access or correct personal information we may need enough detail to find and verify the records, which is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled, write to info@blankindex.online first and you will have an answer within 30 days. If the answer does not satisfy you, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.
